Himalayan Rocket Stove started with one simple goal: help families in cold mountain regions heat their homes without spending a fortune on wood — or breathing toxic smoke. More than 10 years and 15,000+ homes later, that goal hasn't changed.
Our story
HRS began not as a business plan, but as a response to what we saw every winter in Himalayan communities: families burning huge amounts of wood in inefficient stoves, filling their homes with smoke, spending money they couldn't afford on fuel.
The Rocket Stove design — originally developed in Australia — was engineered to solve exactly this. We took that technology, adapted it for Indian conditions and locally available wood, and spent years testing it in the field before calling it ready.
Today, Himalayan Rocket Stove is India's most trusted clean-heating brand for domestic customers. Himalayan Combustion Systems (HCS) is our sister company handling large institutional programs — schools, government, NGOs. They're built on the same technology, the same values.
Our milestones
First Eco Rocket Stoves deployed in high-altitude Himalayan villages. Designed to solve a real problem: toxic smoke, extreme wood consumption, and expensive fuel bills.
Eco1 released and quickly becomes the most popular model. Widespread adoption across Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Eco2 and Eco3 launched to serve larger rooms and guesthouses. Carbon program partnerships begin.
EcoMini launched — the most compact, lightest, and most affordable model yet. Himalayan Combustion Systems (HCS) established as the institutional arm.
15,000+ households served across India. Direct home delivery available nationwide. HRS continues as the domestic consumer brand.
